Um, hi! ME TOO! You are definitely not alone my friend.
I’m Megan, and as a new mom–holy moly do I wish time would chill out! Since time seems to just keep on going, I have made it my mission to serve families through photography services and art education practices. The heart of my work is designed to help you slow down and connect with yourself and your family.
I would love for you to join me in my signature course, Manual Mode for Moms. I created this course with every parent who just wants to soak up their life in mind. I can’t wait to see what everyday magic you capture when you dust off that big-girl camera and dive in!
Course Description
Manual Mode for Moms is designed for the mama that wants to learn how to confidently operate her camera to capture her family’s everyday memories and create a visual legacy. Manual Mode for Moms was created by a formally trained art educator, photographer, and instructional designer. The course contains 4 modules and 16 lessons, plus a bonus module/lessons and downloadable resources.
Learning Objectives
Students will be able to:
- Define the basic components and settings of a DSLR camera
- Define and demonstrate compositional techniques used in photography
- Describe a photographic exposure
- Recall the parts of the exposure triangle
- Demonstrate the ability to manipulate shutter speed and aperture for technical and creative effect
- Demonstrate the ability to create a properly exposed image in various indoor and outdoor settings
- Create a series of portraits of family members using the manual mode on their camera
Course Requirements
This is an online photography course, so there are a few material requirements. Each student must have access to a camera, whether it be a DSLR or mirrorless. A DSLR is recommended but not required. The requirement is that you have a working device that has a manual mode or function, and can take a digital photograph which you can transfer to your computer or editing device.
A laptop or computer is recommended but not required, as long as you have a smartphone or tablet that has the capability to access camera photographs, the course page and editing apps. You will also be invited to join a private Facebook group for mentoring and peer resources if you have a Facebook account.
